Frequently asked questions
How do I get a permit for a bounce house at a Port of San Diego park?
You must apply through the Port of San Diego online Service Portal at least 30 days in advance. There is a $35 non-refundable processing fee plus additional permit fees. Brian's San Diego Jumpers already has the required Certificate of Insurance on file with the Port naming them as required.
Can I use stakes to secure my inflatable at Port parks?
No, the Port of San Diego does not allow stakes of any kind at their parks. All inflatables, tents, and canopies must be secured using weights instead of stakes. This rule is strictly enforced to protect the underground infrastructure and park grounds.
Are water slides allowed at the Port of San Diego waterfront parks?
The Port of San Diego rules do not explicitly state if water units are allowed. We recommend you ask the Port directly when submitting your permit application. If they are not allowed, we have many dry slide options available for your event.
Can I reserve a specific spot for my party at a Port of San Diego park?
No, permits issued by the Port of San Diego do not reserve a specific area or location within the park. Space is available on a first come first served basis on the day of your event. Make sure your setup does not block any walkways or playgrounds.
What are the hours for Port of San Diego parks?
Port of San Diego parks are generally open from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM. However, permits for inflatables are not issued for Port observed holidays or holiday weekends. Be sure to check the calendar before planning your celebration at these waterfront locations.
