Guide

How to choose a bounce house for your party

To choose a bounce house, measure your space first, then match the unit to your guests' ages, decide between wet and dry play and confirm you have power within 50 feet. Brian's San Diego Jumpers lists the space needed on every product card, so you can compare units before you request a quote.

Bounce houses start at $145 per day. Delivery, setup and pickup are included with inflatable rentals in our core service area. Farther ZIP codes or extras only orders may have a delivery fee. Text your ZIP for an exact price.

Measure your space first

Space is the deciding factor for most San Diego yards. Every standard 13 by 13 bounce house needs a level 15 by 17 foot space unless noted, plus a gate at least about 4 feet wide. If your yard is tight, a mini bounce house has a 10 by 10 foot footprint, needs a 12 by 14 foot space and fits through most standard side gates.

Bigger units need much more room. Combos run from about 23 by 24 feet for a 5-in-1 to 21 by 36 feet for a 4-in-1 dual slide. Dry slides run from 28 by 18 feet to 40 by 16 feet, and our smallest water slide needs about 15 feet wide by 28 feet long. Obstacle courses start around 15 by 36 feet, and the 70ft Monster needs about 78 by 25 feet.

Whatever you pick, the setup area should be level and clear of rocks, sticks and debris.

Match the unit to the age group

For the youngest guests, toddler jumpers are designed for ages 2 to 5. They have tunnels, bridges and a mini slide, with soft walls, low ceilings, a gentle bounce and a single way in and out.

Our 13 by 13 castles suit mixed-age birthday parties for kids about 3 to 12, and our commercial-grade units accommodate adults too. Choose from more than 25 themes, including Frozen, Spider-Man, Batman, Disney Princess and classic castles.

Older kids and mixed ages who want more than bouncing usually love combos. Tiers run from 2-in-1 units with a single slide to 6-in-1 combos with two hoops and an obstacle course, plus dual slide models for racing. For teens and adults, obstacle courses and the mechanical bull with operator add competition.

Wet or dry

Water slides need a garden hose water source, a nearby power outlet or generator and level space. A standard garden hose reaches every slide, and we bring the fittings. Our 5-in-1 combos are wet compatible for hot days, so you get a jump area and a splash in one unit.

Dry slides give the same height and thrill without the splash, and they are the better choice for public parks, since most city and county parks do not allow water units.

Plan for power

Every inflatable needs an outlet within 50 feet of the setup area or a generator rental. The generator is $78 per day, or $75 with cash or Zelle, and comes with fuel for at least 6 hours. The mechanical bull needs two separate 120V, 20-amp outlets or a generator.

Backyard or park

Backyards are the simplest setup. For a park, plan on a permit and a generator, and read our park bounce house rental guide before you book. The mechanical bull is offered on private property and approved venues, not city or county parks.

Frequently asked questions

Will a bounce house fit through my side gate?

Most likely. A standard Brian's San Diego Jumpers 13 by 13 bounce house needs a gate at least about 4 feet wide, and our mini bounce houses fit through most standard side gates. If your gate is narrower, tell us the width when you request a quote and we will suggest a unit that fits your yard.

Can adults use your bounce houses?

Our 13 by 13 castles suit mixed-age birthday parties for kids about 3 to 12, and the Brian's San Diego Jumpers commercial-grade units accommodate adults too. For an adult focused event, an obstacle course or the mechanical bull with operator adds friendly competition. Ask us which unit fits your group when you request a quote.

Which combo bounce houses can be used with water?

Our 5-in-1 combo bounce houses are wet compatible, so they work for hot San Diego days when you want a jump area and a splash together. Like our water slides, a wet setup needs a garden hose water source and power within 50 feet or a generator. Brian's San Diego Jumpers brings the fittings.

What surface does a bounce house need?

A bounce house needs a level setup area that is clear of rocks, sticks and debris, with an outlet within 50 feet or a generator rental. Brian's San Diego Jumpers lists the exact space needed on every product card, so measure your yard first and compare it with the card before you request a quote.
